The Barami Waspe Brazilian Quartet

The Barami Waspe Brazilian Quartet is a group of New York City based musicians, taking its inspiration from Brazilian composers and rhythms, and performing Samba, Bossa Nova and Música Popular Brasileira.  Barami Waspe, saxophonist and leader of the group, formed the Brazilian Quartet in 2016 with drummer, Daniel Silva out of a desire to perform works of their favorite Brazilian artists,  They enlisted the help of New York native pianist, John Austria and native of Rio di Janeiro, bassist, Itaiguara Brandão.  As individuals, the members of the quartet are active in the New York scene, performing Jazz, R&B, dance, and popular styles.  As a group the Quartet performs original music, the music of Brazilian composers Djavan, Jobim, and Gil, as well as adaptations of Jazz composers such as Monk and Silver.
