"The NY Collegiate All Star Big Band, under direction of Stony Brook local and Berklee College of Music student Gabriel Nekrutman, is a newly formed ensemble made up of dedicated and talented college-aged musicians from around Long Island, NY who attend some of the top jazz programs at colleges and universities throughout the country. This group of highly skilled players pride themselves on the execution of challenging big band repertoire, and their combined love and appreciation of the music. In preparation for this performance event, this all-star ensemble will be working with noted jazz educator, trumpeter, and founder of the Jazz Loft, Dr. Tom Manuel. This event promises to be a wonderful evening had by all."
